The Dragons Den Team

A level and BTEC Business students were recently invited to take part in a 'Day in the Life of a Business' experience as part of our Aiming High outreach opportunities held at Chichester University.

As part of the day our students received a welcome talk about university life. Students were then put in teams and took over the university campus, being assigned team classrooms where they could work together to create a unique product or service. Part of this process was to identify any gaps in the market.

Students were mixed up between all participating colleges to get a real life feel of university life. The newly formed team were given a brief and had to deliver a confident and creative pitch to industry investors HSBC Bank, who were on the judging panel.

Krish Walia who studies BTEC Business at Farnborough was on the winning team.  A big well to you and your team for a very well deserved win.

Dr. Rehanet Isa Lecturer in Accounting & Finance | Head, Outreach & Partnerships (Business School) reflected on the day "It was a vibrant and inspiring day filled with engaging workshops, insightful sessions, and enthusiastic participation from students across the region.  On behalf of the University of Chichester Business School, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for participating in our very first Outreach Programme. Their presence, energy, and engagement helped make the day a truly memorable one. It was inspiring to see such active participation from all the schools and our guests, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect and learn together."

Sarah Price, Subject Tutor Business said "This was our first visit to participate in their outreach programme and it certainly was a memorable one. Having students pitch to HSBC bank was a tall challenge our students were ready for. All the ideas and pitches were truly remarkable and showed great innovation, creativity, teamwork and collaboration from the students. It was truly a proud moment watching the students present their business plans to the experts and develop their skills in presenting, communication and problem solving in a real world business challenge. These students met as strangers at the start of the day and left as friends."
