The College has a dedicated business development and engagement team whose role is to continuously develop links with local businesses and community organisations. Our team strives to create a sense of belonging and collaboration between education and the wider community.
We work closely with a number of organisations including the Community Matters Partnership Project (CMPP). CMPP is a pioneering network of public, private and voluntary organisations working together to the benefit of their local community. Through CMPP, a range of volunteering opportunities, work experience placements, insight visits, mentoring projects, internships and grants have been made available to students looking to make a positive impact on their community. In addition, over 50 local projects, aimed at raising the aspirations of the young people in our area, and 20 local volunteering days, have been funded by the generosity of CMPP employees and their supporters.
We would be delighted to discuss how you can get involved. For more information, please contact our Director of Community Engagement, Chris Eustace, via firstname.lastname@example.org .
We also work with organisations to increase their visibility via sponsorship of College projects and events, including our Moving On Day and Training, Employment and Apprenticeship Fair.
Our team supports all of our students in undertaking meaningful employer engagement (also known as work experience) as part of their studies. The Careers and Enterprise Company’s recent report, ‘Fuelling Young People’s Futures’ states, “the evidence is compelling, that providing interaction between young people and the world of work whilst they are in the education system can improve life chances, reduce the chance of being unemployed and boost their lifetime earnings.”
If you feel you may be able to support our students via work placements or to find out more about exhibiting at a careers event, please email us at email@example.com .
