On 2nd July 2025, The Sixth Form College Farnborough proudly hosted its much-anticipated annual careers event, Moving On Day, which once again proved to be a resounding success. Designed to inspire and inform Year 12 students, the event focused on helping them explore a wide range of progression pathways and make confident, well-informed decisions about their futures.
“It was very helpful, and helped me confirm what I wanted to do after Year 13.”
With more than 200 seminars and 140 exhibition stands, the event offered students an extensive overview of opportunities across multiple sectors. Seminars were led by university academics, apprenticeship providers, and professionals from fields including business, industry, law, and the arts. In addition, representatives from a broad selection of universities provided essential guidance through talks on topics such as applying to competitive courses, managing student finances, and understanding student life.
“The interactions our STEM ambassadors had with the students were absolutely incredible. They had some really interesting and thoughtful questions and discussions.” – Exhibitor and Speaker
Moving On Day 2025 not only reflected the college’s strong commitment to student development, but also underscored the value of informed career planning. By bringing together a wide range of experts, university representatives, and alumni, the event enabled students to explore countless future possibilities and ensured they are well-prepared for the next steps in their educational and professional journeys.
On behalf of the college, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the sponsors for ensuring that important events such as Moving on Day can continue to be provided to support our students.
