Here at Farnborough we challenge our students to dream big and provide the support and inspiration they need to reach their full potential.

Our Aspire+ Programme offers a pathway to excellence and exciting opportunities and guidance  to those students with ambitions to study at the most competitive and prestigious destinations.

Students are identified for the Aspire+ programme based on contextualised GCSE results. 

In order to build a solid foundation, the Aspire+ Programme commences at the start of year 12 and will continue for students until the end of their college career.

The Aspire+ Programme includes a number of strands within which students receive tailored support for different specialisms:

• Medicine Dentistry and Veterinary Science
• Oxbridge
• Biological and Chemical Sciences
• Law
• Economics and PPE
• Physical, Material and Engineering Sciences
• Humanities
• Arts
• Social Science
• Apprenticeships.

Success in 2025:

31 students received offers from Oxford or Cambridge (28% of applicants)

22 students received offers for medicine (79% of applicants)

3 students received offers for veterinary medicine 

We had successful students from all of our partner schools and a wide variety of backgrounds.

The Support We Provide

For students wishing to progress onto Higher Education we provide tailored UCAS support including:

• An assigned a member of staff to support them with their UCAS application (and wiil also write their reference)
• Personal statement support, workshops and feedback from our fantastic careers department
• Preparation for applications and admissions tests to the top HE destinations and competitive courses
• Interview guidance and mock interviews with both external and internal specialists and in some cases Farnborough alumni
• Open Days, online activities, talks and HE Exhibition visits.

Supercurricular Opportunities

We offer a wide range of opportunities to stretch and challenge our students who are aiming for top destinations. Participating  in these activities is a good way of making your application stand out! These include external speakers including some Farnborough alumni, opportunities for trips and visits and various enrichment groups including:

• Biology society
• Chemistry society
• Physics society
• Medic society
• Vet societ

Competitions

We encourage all students who are part of the Aspire+ programme to participate in national competitions. Recent examples where Farnborough students have excelled are:

• UK Maths Challenge
• Biology, Physics and Chemistry Olympiads
• Oxford Big Think Competition
• Royal Society of Chemistry Analyst Challenge (practical competition)
• Debating competitions (e.g. Great Debate and Oxford Schools Debating Competition)
