Here at the College, we pride ourselves in providing high quality sports enrichment. The programme we offer provides opportunities for students to take part in both competitive and recreational sports. The College competes in a wide range of sports within a number of regional and national cup competitions. All of the sports enrichment programmes are supported by an experienced team of outstanding qualified coaching staff.
The College has excellent facilities that include two sports halls, a fitness gym, a dance studio, three football pitches, a rugby pitch, a cricket square, indoor cricket nets and a full-size floodlit astroturf. We also have excellent links to external clubs to support athletics, swimming and tennis.
Below is a list of sports on offer at the College and detailed information about the teams. Trials for competitive sports take place in July and details will be included in prospective students' Getting Ready invitation email.
Men’s Rugby is a hugely popular sport at the College that has enjoyed a great deal of success in recent years. The teams currently compete in the AoC Regional Leagues, U18 Natwest Vase, Hampshire Schools U18 County Cup and ECRFU Cup. Our Rugby Sevens programme includes the AoC Cup, Hampshire School’s Sevens and The Rosslyn Park National Sevens.
Men’s Rugby is an elite sport, with three dedicated sessions a week built into the College timetable. As well as matches, the programme includes skill development, tactical principles, game play, video analysis and a full strength and conditioning programme to aid the development and well-being of all members of the team.
All students at the College are welcome to trial to be a member of the Men’s Rugby team.
Women’s Rugby has two dedicated sessions a week built into the College timetable. The programme includes skill development, tactical principles, game play and a full strength and conditioning programme to aid the development and well-being of all members of the team. Wednesday afternoons are training or match days in which the team will compete in friendly fixtures and AoC Sport competitions. We have also entered a team for the Rosslyn Park National Sevens competition.
All students at the College are welcome to trial to be a member of the Women’s Rugby team.

Badminton continues to be a very popular and successful sport at the College. The College competes in a Hampshire inter-college league as well as the more prestigious regional and national AoC competitions. As well as matches, training includes skill development, tactical principles, match play, video analysis and a strength and conditioning programme.
All students at the College are welcome to trial to be a member of the elite badminton team.
Men’s and Women’s Tennis is run in partnership with the recently refurbished Aldershot Tennis Centre (ATC). Starting in September, students will train at the AGTC and receive high level coaching and skill development, tactical principles, match play, video analysis and a strength and conditioning programme. The College will enter into LTA National Senior Students competitions, as well as playing fixtures against local Hampshire colleges and schools.
All students at the College are welcome to trial to be a member of the Tennis team.
Women’s and Men’s Hockey has three dedicated sessions a week built into the College timetable. The programme includes skill development, tactical principles, game play and a full strength and conditioning programme to aid the development and well-being of all members of the team. Wednesday afternoons are match days in which the teams will compete in the AoC Sport Mixed Regional League, AoC Sport Regionals and the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed AoC Sport Cup competitions.

Women’s Elite Netball is a hugely popular sport at the College that has enjoyed a great deal of success in recent years. The teams currently compete in the AoC Sport League and Cup Competitions, Hampshire College league and a National SistersnSport competition.
Women’s Elite Netball is entering its third year on the enrichment curriculum with three dedicated sessions a week built into the College timetable. As well as matches, the programme includes skill development, tactical principles, game play, video analysis and a full strength and conditioning programme to aid the development and well-being of all members of the team.
All students at the College are welcome to trial to be a member of the Elite Netball team.
The Women’s Performance Netball programme has two dedicated sessions a week built into the College timetable. As well as matches, the programme is timetabled for training on a Monday after college which will include skill development, tactical principles, game play and a full strength and conditioning programme to aid the development and well-being of all members of the team.
All students at the College are welcome to trial to be a member of the Women’s Performance Netball team.
Women’s Performance Football (one team) is a hugely popular sport at the College that has enjoyed a great deal of success in recent years. The teams currently compete in the Surrey colleges league and AoC Sport Regional Cup.
The Football team has one dedicated session a week built into the College timetable. As well as matches, the programme includes skill development, tactical principles and game play to aid the development and well-being of all members of the team. This will include helping players reach the highest level of football possible with support for scholarships abroad and semi professional pathway routes.
All students at the College are welcome to trial to be a member of the Women’s Football team.
Men’s Elite football (1st and 2nd team) is a hugely popular sport at the College that has enjoyed a great deal of success in recent years. The teams currently compete in the Hampshire colleges league, ESFA Super League, Hampshire league cup, AoC Sport National Cup and AoC Sport Regional 5 a side competition.
The Football team is a part of our elite sports on the enrichment curriculum with three dedicated sessions a week built into the College timetable with additional sessions included. As well as matches, the programme includes skill development, Futsal, tactical principles, game play, video analysis and a full strength and conditioning programme to aid the development and well-being of all members of the team. This will include helping players reach the highest level of football possible with support for scholarships abroad, semi-professional and professional opportunities, as well as opportunities to attend trials to play for Hampshire county and England Schools.
All students at the College are welcome to trial to be a member of the Men’s Elite football team.
Men’s performance football (3rd, 4th and 5th Team) is a hugely popular sport at the College that has enjoyed a great deal of success in recent years. The teams currently compete in the Hampshire colleges league and Hampshire league cup.
The Football team is a part of our enrichment curriculum with one dedicated session a week built into the College timetable. As well as matches, the programme includes skill development, tactical principles and game play to aid the development and well-being of all members of the team. This will include helping players reach the highest level of football possible with support for scholarships abroad.
All students at the College are welcome to trial to be a member of the Men’s Performance Football team.
Cricket is a popular sport at the College. The team currently compete in the AoC Sport cricket league and the Hampshire Cup during the summer term. In the winter, we also take part in the AoC Sport Regional indoor tournament.
The Cricket team is a part of our enrichment curriculum with one dedicated session a week for training through the year with fixtures on a Wednesday through the summer term. The programme includes skill development, tactical principles and game play to aid the development and well-being of all members of the team. The team also receive a strength and conditioning programme to follow through the winter.
